Installation:

With just a minimum of care, your garden fountain will provide years of service and beauty to your garden.

If you have purchased a cast stone fountain, be sure to install it on a level surface so that it will not topple over and break. This will also insure an even of flow of water around the bowl.

If you have purchased a water wall fountain, be sure that it is securely fastened to the wall.

Pay close attention to safety as pumps require electricity. It is recommended that the pump is connected via an earth leakage devise designed to cut off power which will cut off power in case of a short circuit in the power supply.

Regular Maintenance:

It is most important to keep your fountain free of small twigs, leaves, etc. as these can clog the pump and tubing. Remove the pump and flush it with the garden hose. Judge the frequency this must be done by how quickly this debris collects.

Add water to your fountain in dry weather.

For a clean appearance, spray down with your garden hose.

Winter Care:

Make sure that your fountain is completely dry during freezes. We suggest covering it with a non-porous material. Drain your cast stone fountain before freezing weather arrives. This will protect it from free/thaw cycles. This is important because this type of fountain is slightly porous. Water that freezes in the fountain will cause cracks and chips.

If possible, raise the fountain off the ground to prevent it from freezing to the ground.

Fiberglass fountains are light enough to bring indoors during the winter.

Be sure to bring the pump indoors during freezing weather.
